The purpose of this page is to keep our community up-to-date with the latest news regarding our Agency and how we can continue to assist you during this health crisis.

ATTENTION – ACDJFS/OMJ LOBBIES ARE CLOSED TO THE PUBLIC:

We realize our community depends on us for additional resources, however, the steps we are taking for our community and staff is so we can continue to provide services to those in need.  With that being said, to reduce any potential spread of the COVID-19 virus, Allen County Job and Family Services and OhioMeansJobs – Allen County will be closing our lobby to the public, effective Monday, March 16, 2020.  The Agency is not closing; we will continue to run operations and supportive services as usual by means of telephone and email communication.

For our public assistance and supportive services clients, we encourage our clients to submit documentation to us either by mail, fax or email.  All documents will process as normal and staff will mail a receipt to verify the Agency has received any submitted documentation or will contact our clients via phone if a phone interview needs scheduled, or if we have any questions.  Any phone interviews previously scheduled will continue over the phone, unless noted otherwise.

For our job seekers, while our lobby is closed, we will still be available to assist you.  We will conduct all scheduled appointments over the phone and will continue to support you in your job search and/or supportive services needs.  For our employers, we will continue recruiting for your job postings as our workforce is still top priority.

The agency is not closed, just our lobby.  If you have any questions, please use the contact information below to reach us.  Our Agency will operate our usual business hours of Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-4:30PM.  We do ask that the public to be patient as we expect to receive a higher call volume.

PRC – RESPONSE ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

If you have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, please click here to complete an application.  Completed applications can be sent via email or send picture of completed applications to omjallen@jfs.ohio.gov.  If you need assistance signing your document electronically, please use the links below.  OhioMeansJobs Allen County is able to help individuals with $500 stipends.  To qualify you must live and work in Allen County with a child 18 years or younger in the home.  The money is through Temporary Assistance to Needy Families, also known as TANF. 244 applications have been approved as of 4/3/2020 at 4:00pm.

UPDATE as of 4/2/2020: We have exhausted all funding available. Stay tuned, if additional funding becomes available we will inform the public.

UPDATE as of 4/1/2020: We have received additional funding through our PRC Response Assistance Program, and will be able to assist 80 more individuals that have been financially impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.  Please click here to complete an application.  Completed applications can be sent via email or send a picture of completed application to omjallen@jfs.ohio.gov.
