About The Role
The Child Care Provider Specialist position offers an opportunity to ensure the safety, quality, and compliance of in-home childcare provider facilities across Allen County. This role is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and are passionate about supporting childcare providers to meet state and local licensing standards.

• Monitor, evaluate, and ensure in-home childcare providers comply with state and local licensing regulations.
• Assist providers with the licensing process, providing technical support, training, and resources to improve operations and resolve compliance issues.
• Conduct on-site inspections and investigations of complaints, including reports of abuse, neglect, or non-compliance, with frequent travel to childcare facilities.
• Occasionally work evening and weekend hours to accommodate provider inspections. Maintain accurate documentation and records in state and local childcare systems, including inspections, investigations, and provider communications.
• Determine eligibility for childcare services, including gathering information, verifying income, and completing required documentation for effective case management.
• Manage a caseload of active clients, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
• Process eligibility for Title XX, PRC (Prevention, Retention, and Contingency), and other Social Service programs, coordinating with third-party vendors to arrange services.
• Assist with Information and Referral (I&R) services, assessing client needs and making appropriate referrals to other community resources.
• Collaborate with community partners to enhance childcare safety and quality standards.
• Attend training sessions and meetings at the state and local levels to stay current with policies, methods, and regulations.
• Participate in public speaking engagements to inform partners and the community about childcare services and other social programs.
• Complete additional duties as assigned, including filing, correspondence, assisting coworkers, and training interns.
• Maintain regular, predictable attendance to ensure consistency in service delivery.

Candidate Requirements

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Undergraduate coursework in behavioral science, social science, business, or education preferred. Candidates must have completed at least one course or six months of experience in interviewing techniques and typing, keyboarding, or word processing—or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
